Hi! I found your blog by chance, linked on friendfeed today. I liked your post on getting involved in partner's interests and the other on being connected all day long, forgetting to save time for ourselves (me too, I live with macbook pro and iphone always on me...). I tumblered a piece of this post, hope you don't mind...http://tigella.tumblr.com/post/944058427/theres-a-problem-and-i-suspect-im-not-the-only
Then I discover you use(d) cloth diaper, as I do! I even created, with my husband, the first website dedicated to cloth diapers in italian...
Well, I think you'll have an italian reader, from now on!

Joe Ruby, I admit, I'm a boring mommy. It's very true! My kids love me though, at least until they get old enough to hate me ;-)

Stephen and Mike: great to know that there are rubyists that 1). have families and 2). are involved enough to cloth diaper! :) I am so accustomed to only seeing single, young males as programmers. With the insane hours I see them working at start-ups I wonder if they'll ever have families :)

Wow, another cloth-diapering Rubyist. Never expected to find one - made my day.

After 8 years and 4 kids, our cloth-diapering days are finally drawing to an end. I can't say I'll *miss* doing all that laundry, but I'm glad we did.

Great post. We've been using pre-fold reusables exclusively with our 7 week old and it's great.

It's amazing how many people have a negative reaction to them. My only experience of disposables is with my younger siblings, but I feel like cloth is an all round better choice.

The cost is comparable with the first child, but the beauty of them is that you can use them for the next one (if you have one of course).

As well as the general 'feel-good' feeling, they also just feel much nicer on baby's skin - plus nothing beats the 'big bottom' look :0)

Needless to say, like breast feeding and organic food, I find myself boring people - people who didn't even ask - to death with my cloth nappy advocacy speeches...

Oh and Joe Ruby - nice contribution to the discussion :0)
